The Vostro that is designed for business won't be completely useless, but it will have slightly less game performance, even with similar specs. The main reason for this is the video card. For example, in an inspiron you might get a Geforce Go discreet video card. This card will be pretty good at gaming, certainly not as good as its desktop version because it is underclocked to conserve power and cut back on heat, but decent nonetheless. The Vostro's video card, on the other hand, will most likely be a Quattro. At first glance you say, oh, they both have 256 megabytes of video RAM, they will be the same. However, the Quattro is designed for business applications such as C.A.D. and graphic design, not fast moving high detail graphics such as in games. so you would notice significantly lower framerates. In either case, make sure to shop around, don't restrict yourself to jsut dell. Brand loyalty doesn't mean anything when you are paying that much
